Precious star lands sexy OLTL role

One Life to Live will trim its roster of a newly introduced character as it moves towards its January 2012 finale. Barret Helms has confirmed that he's exiting the show in the weeks ahead.

Barret Helms (Sebastian "Baz" Moreau) has taken to Twitter to confirm the news that he'll soon be exiting One Life to Live.

"I guess the news broke that Baz is leaving Llanview soon," Helms wrote. "Just when I was making headway with Starr! Haha. Had a blast, [thanks] for the love!"

Helms first aired on One Life to Live back in June. The actor was known to moviegoers as the dream boyfriend of Precious in the Oscar-nominated film, Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire.

In its initial casting call for the role, then known as "Robbie," One Life to Live said that it was seeking an actor to play "a sexy and confident college student who interns at a well-known newspaper."

A final airdate has not yet been announced.
